Veritone Identify is an application that helps investigators identify suspects from videos or images by matching them against criminal databases. The platform supports investigation workflows including case management, evidence uploads, suspect marking, and internal information sharing.
The Challenge
Before Identify, suspect identification faced multiple limitations:
- Manual identification was extremely slow: investigators had to watch each video and compare manually against criminal records, taking hours or even days.
- Lack of a visual interface for working with digital evidence: videos, images, and data were not organized, making review difficult.
- No unified process for marking, reviewing, and confirming suspects, which made investigator collaboration inconsistent.
